Daniela Maldonado Garza, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker Supervised by Rosemary Hernandez, LCSW-S
(she/her/hers)

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker living in Austin, TX. My therapeutic style consists of a Humanistic, person-centered approach using a strengths-based perspective. I prioritize human connection and creating a space where healing and growth can happen through mutual and collaborative trust, empathy, and respect. I believe in meeting the client where they are in their healing journey with an unconditional positive regard.

My therapeutic approach combines different techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, Mindfulness techniques, Trust-Based Relational Intervention and Attachment work. I am trained in the Gottman Method and can incorporate it in my work with couples. I also incorporate Somatic Experiencing in my work with clients, focusing on the mind-body connection and how trauma affects the body.

I am passionate about working with youth, adolescents, individual adults, couples, and families struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, and eating disorders.

Being a Mexican woman, I have a deep understanding on how culture and different identities play a role in every aspect of our lives. I use an intersectional lens to understand and support all clients with different experiences and perspectives, and I am honored to continue to serve clients of all backgrounds and identities. I am fluent in Spanish and can provide services in English and Spanish.
