Katie Yates, LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor
(she/her/hers)

Senior Therapist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Austin, Texas, working with adolescents, adults, and families. I view therapy as an invitation to partner with you and navigate through the uncertainties and challenges of life to help improve your everyday well-being and overall quality of life. My approach to counseling is to meet you where you are, and I often find that humor and authenticity are gateways to healing. I utilize a trauma informed relational approach to therapy and have been intensively trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.  I have had extensive clinical experience in facilitating individual, group, and family counseling at an outpatient eating disorder clinic where I oversaw the Family Based Therapy Program, and most recently being the Program Coordinator for the Mindful Eating Program at the University of Texas at Austin. I specialize in eating disorders, disordered eating and body image concerns, anxiety, perfectionism, and life transitions. As a seasoned therapist I aim to understand my clients presenting concerns and empower each client to embark on a journey of self-discovery and emotional wellness.
