Suni Housty, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker Supervised by Leah Leeds, LCSW-S
(she/her/hers)

I am a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker in Austin, Texas working with adolescents, adults, and couples.

My approach to therapy is humanistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relational. I strive to meet each client where they are and see where we can go from there together.  I am passionate about working with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, substance use, disordered eating, negative body image, relationship issues, women’s issues, and life transitions.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques.  I have had extensive clinical experience facilitating individual therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducation groups in a variety of settings including partial hospitalization intensive outpatient facilities, the Austin State Hospital with forensic psychiatric clients, and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

As a therapist, I foster a space of authenticity and empathy for all clients; I know it is not easy to be in the client seat so I want to value the courage and time it takes to be there. I strive to get to the root of your presenting behaviors and thoughts while using a tailored approach to provide you with a safe space to heal and work towards sustained emotional well-being.
